about
Pigmalion takes its name from the Greek myth of Pygmalion, a sculptor who created an ideal companion according to his own vision. The story became a starting point for thinking about design as something shaped by personal ideals rather than predefined standards.
Developed during my bachelor studies and inspired by Enzo Mari’s Autoprogettazione, the project explores self-design as a way of reconnecting people with their own bodily needs. Rather than receiving a finished piece of furniture, users are invited to observe their bodies, articulate their preferred states of comfort, and take part in creating furniture shaped around those needs.
