Chairwave is one of the projects I worked on during my internship at VOUW. It is an interactive public seating installation designed to encourage encounters between strangers. When someone takes a seat, the neighbouring chairs unfold, creating an invitation for the next person to sit beside them.

Through this simple sequence of movement, Chairwave turns seating into a form of social choreography, shaping the environment to gently reduce the distance between people.
